Participant Quote #1

Yeah, Narcan works but sometimes with fentanyl, it works but sometimes it takes more than just one dose of it to work. I'm confident if I have it on me if somebody's overdosing, that it will help. But now with fentanyl, it's getting trickier. People aren’t coming responsive like they used to. It takes more than just one.

Participant Quote #2

In regards to the withdrawal part of it, being alive and having withdrawal is better than being dead and not having withdrawal. So if that is the major stumbling block or a side effect to having the double amount of dosage, I guess I would have to be the price you would have to pay to stay alive. It's a valuable tool. It separates life from death in the blink of an eye. Side effects would be of very little concern to me personally if it was my life in the balance. We're trying to save lives here any way possible, anything possible. Life is a precious thing. And this is a tool that's well needed and a well-working tool from everything I've seen and heard and witnessed. It’s something that works so we need to have more of it and to be less worried about side effects of withdrawal or minor things compared to death.

Participant Quote #3

I was given the Narcan. I was given two packages of it. So two nasal sprays. And I was given the Narcan from a hospital that my husband had went into for drug abuse. And they gave it to me because he did not want to accept it. So I took it, and I left it in my home where we were both at. And when it came down, time to use it, I grabbed both of them, ripped open one, sprayed it up his nose. Nothing happened. And I did CPR, and nothing was happening. So I grabbed the other one, opened that, put it up his other nostril than the first one. And he jolted up after after I sprayed him with the second one.

Participant Quote #4

Yes, I feel very confident that the Narcan will work. If I have enough — sometimes you need more. Sometimes you just need one spray, sometimes two, sometimes three. So, I would be worried if I didn't have enough. But I did — thank God.

Participant Quote #5

To my way of thinking, having a double amount or a double dose could only increase my confidence in the ability for this to work and to work swiftly. Time is of the essence. Life may be slipping away. Having a larger dose, being able to administer it quickly is the difference of life and death. I can see nothing but a positive effect of having 8 milligram as opposed to 4. It can only be a good thing. For me, I think it's a no-brainer. It's definitely something that I would support and be fully behind.

Participant Quote #6

Yes, I believe if there was an 8 milligram opioid nasal spray, I think that would be a much better option to revive somebody from an opioid overdose because it's a higher dose than the 4 milligram. The 4 milligram does work, but I think an 8 milligram would work a lot better, and you wouldn't have to give it to them more than one time, so I believe that there should be an 8 milligram opioid nasal spray.
